I am German. born and raised in the holy city of Karlsruhe (Mecca for Asian exchange students). I am not pure Germanic as I have both spanish-valencian and jewish blood. I am almost done with my secondary education and will be going into university soon. 6'2. I accept Christ as son of God and the Savior, but I am currently not part of a church.
Engagement with the Humanities has been my main hobby and interest for a long duration. To be more specific: Theology, Philosophy and History. These are the areas where I spent most of my time.
Theology: I identify as an orthodox lutheran but I am generally sympethatic towards the protestant tradition. Particularly Protestant Mysticism (Boehme) has been one of my favorite topics of study. I think "Gnosticism", while overexposed and overromanticised on the internet, is very interesting too.
Philosophy: Christian Philosophy and the Work of Jean Baudrillard are my main interests in Philosphy. But reactionary-conservative Philosophy and Literature (De Maistre, Davila, Schmitt, Burke, Belloc, Juenger) are also some of my favorites. Nietzsche has been an inspiration of mine too even though I am not a Nietzschen. I am currently in my Hegel arc, mostly interested in his Philosophy of Religion and the State.
History: Medieval Europe is my biggest historical interest. The Germanics and middle high German/old English Philology in particular. But I am versed in the modern Far East too. Especially Meiji to Showa era Japan. I love reading about local History from the Karlsruhe-Baden region. Cultural Historiography as laid out by Jacob Burckhardt is my preferred field of study. Currently reading his "Weltgeschichtliche Betrachtungen".
Dharmic Religions and Indian Philosophical traditions have also captivated me. Sanskrit is a beautiful language and I am interested in studying its Literature. And while I am not a perennial the possible synthesis and connections between Christianity and Hindu-Buddhist thought compels me.
Its embarrassing to admit but I do enjoy Japanese cultural exports. I like reading Manga and Visual Novels (Even though I dont have a lot of time to do the latter anymore) Death Note is probably my favorite Manga. I was obsessed with it a few years ago but I still like it to this day. I dont have many other hobbies. I listen to music like everyone else (more on that on the "Music" section of this website) and I watch movies from time to time. I like going for a walk during the day or hiking in the beautiful scenerie of Baden. Sometimes I just explore the region through our great public transport system here which connects the city with surrounding communities. BADENPOWER
